Rolando Valladarez Biography 

Rolando is a graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan University’s B.S in Exercise Science program and East Carolina University’s M.S in Kinesiology program. He is also a certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He has a passion for helping people discover their true strength and enjoy the benefits of exercise. His experience includes working with individuals between the ages of 5 and 100 years old. With a background in Exercise Is Medicine programs, he has also had the opportunity to work with individuals with one or more chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and respiratory disease.

 

Currently, Rolando serves as an Exercise Physiologist at the ECU Health Wellness Center in Greenville, North Carolina. Here, he serves as a personal trainer for diverse clientele and a group exercise instructor, helping with specialized classes such as Rock Steady Boxing (Parkinson’s Disease), Aquatic Arthritis classes, and pregnancy programs.

 

Previously, while completing his studies at ECU, Rolando researched physical activity adherence and exercise enjoyment among former high school athletes. Through this research, he gained insight into the importance of consistent exercise across the lifespan and how people's perception of exercise affects their adherence. Because of these findings, Rolando is dedicated to helping individuals understand how to exercise, put systems in place to make meaningful lifestyle changes, and find ways to enjoy moving more!
